School Horses

At EVT our barn isn’t full of your typical burned out and lazy “school horses”, but instead, we stock our stalls with enthusiastic “performance horses”.  We believe these are the horses that will help teach riders to be the most adaptable, confident, and experienced riders possible.

SCAT MAN CHIEF:

by King of Scat (Eastern Echo – Jazzy), out of Ms Tallchief (Eminency – Blint)

Foaled in 2002, 16.2hh Thoroughbred gelding.  This OTTB (off the track Thoroughbred) earned $65,680 during his career on the racetrack, with 16 starts: 4 first place finishes, and 8 second place finishes.  In his second career as a sporthorse he is excelling in an eventing career.  This horse is incredibly brave and has a tremendous amount of scope over fences and impressive speed on the cross country field.  Scat Man is our alpha horse, yet he has a very kind and playful personality and enthusiastically performs any task given to him at 110% effort.

SENTIMENTAL JOURNEY (AKA “Sir Brenner”)

Foaled in 1991, 16hh Thoroughbred gelding.  Brenner is a non-raced Thoroughbred and is a young twenty-something horse because of his light use in his first career as a dressage show horse.  His specialty is still dressage, but he enjoys jumping as well.  He is a wonderful caretaker of our beginner children riders and has been a part of the Eagle View Training program since 2007.

 SPECIAL HEAT (AKA “Fuego del Corazon”)

Foaled in 2001, 16.1hh Appendix gelding.  Fuego is an incredibly kind horse with an easy going personality.  He takes great care of his rider and is very versatile in his disciplines.  Fuego neck reins and does well with cattle work, barrel racing, gymkhanas, and trail rides.  He is also a beautiful mover in English and Western dressage, and is a solid jumper as well.  Fuego has quite the impressive bloodline known for speed.  His great grandsire on top is the American Quarter Horse Hall of Famer Easy Jet, whose earnings on the racetrack were $445,721.00 (approximately $2,748,800 as of 2017).  Four generations back on his sire’s side is the undefeated Thoroughbred racehorse Raise A Native, who was named 1963 champion two-year-old colt and called “the most influential sire of American Thoroughbred stallions over the last 20 years” by The New York Times.

TD STAR FROST (AKA “Chinook Wind”)

Foaled in 2008, 15.3hh Quarter Horse gelding.  This handsome, intelligent, and loving fellow has bloodlines that are full of speed and athleticism and include 4 AQHA Hall of Famers: Three Bars (TB), Dash For Cash, Easy Jet, and Doc Bar.  This horse is quite the fancy mover and has impressive impulsion to excel in the dressage ring and over fences.  He also has western foundations that include barrel racing and cow work.
